How Opening Your Root Chakra will Help You in Life

Jan 31, 2024

“I am smart, and I work hard, and why can't I figure it out?”

Have you ever thought that?

Maybe you have found yourself laying awake at night, your thoughts turning and churning with anxiety, to the point that your stomach gets queasy.

With what’s happening in the world, many people feel a lack of security and trust, both within themselves and others. This lack of security can come in the form of money, community, relationships, or even connections.

If you’re ready to begin receiving more and finally get to the place where you want to be in the areas I mentioned above, then it’s time to go deep and look at opening the Root Chakra.

Where is that chakra located?

The root chakra is located at the base of the spine, where physically, that area includes the anus, the pyramid, and the male and female reproductive organs, where it represents both the inner and the outer organs.

What is significant about the root chakra?

First of all, the root chakra is energetically and emotionally connected to our childhood. The roots of where we come from, our genetics. It also has to do with how we feel safe or secure in the world.

One of the ways we feel safe or secure in the world is in relationship to our earthly possessions that includes money, our home, and our local environment. And it has to do with the work that we do in the world and how we create wealth for ourselves that’s our livelihood.

The root chakra is also connected to all things, from feeling safe in the world to feeling very abundant. It’s when we have access to the feeling of oneness and connection, having no room to feel lonely or separated.

How would we know if we have a root chakra problem?

Physically it would show up in things like tight hips, sciatica pain, knee problems, and hip issues.

Any digestive or urinary tract issues, especially on the outer area of the body, is a key indicator that the root chakra is closed off.

Emotionally, it shows up when we feel a lot of fear around not having enough money or losing it. It can even be if you’re feeling unsafe in your community or in your household.

Struggling to forgive someone can cut you off from the root chakra as well.

If you thought your personality is just the “over giving” type, then consider if it’s a disconnect from your root chakra as I have observed that when people over give, they cannot receive, despite how hard they may feel that they are working.

Know the feeling? Then let’s open your root chakra with some movement to receive more in life and business!

How do we clear the chakra through movement?

The root chakra needs to stay open and balanced, and in order to do that, we need to clear any energy blocks. Then we need to work on forgiveness or any sort of limiting mindset, safety, or fears we’ve been experiencing.

The first thing you can do is to slow down and get back into the body. You can do this by breathing deeper.

Getting the breath all the way down to the genitals and feeling the whole body, including the legs and feet, everything in the low body relaxing. Allow the hips to open more.

Once we feel our bodies, include movement like hopping, jumping and pulsing. The feet need to leave the ground and then land on the ground more often during these times of fear.

When we are feeling unsafe in the world, it's a cue that we feel unsafe in ourselves. The number one way to recognize that we are, indeed, safe in the mind is to know that you're safe physically and jumping up and down on the ground will help you realize that you're safe and secure.

Other movements include simple hip openers, building strength in the legs, walking barefoot on the ground, and feeling a connection between the body and the earth more often during the day to day life.

When we begin to connect with our root chakra, we will reduce the amount of overthinking. When you think less, it means a more balanced root chakra.

Want to know the secrets to decrease your thinking?

Here are three ways to silence the chatter in your mind:

You will bring your energy and mind down to your bottom, genitals, or anus.

Number one, the awareness comes deeper down into the body.

Number two, go that area deeper with intention.

Number three, spend enough time breathing and bringing your awareness to that area until the thinking stops.

You'll feel a difference. It will be a visceral experience of relaxation and peace and surrender.

When the root chakra is open, you can receive more

When the root chakra becomes more open, the heart, the mind, can be more open.

Other people will see a sense of groundedness, more calm, peace, and more presence within you.

Creativity can flow easier when the root chakra is open. And when creativity flows, one can receive more, like more opportunities coming people's way.

It’s easier to connect with other people, and build relationships that are deeper and stronger.

In regards to money, when the root chakra opens more and more, and allows for earth energy to move, it’ll come through the 3D world as money, opportunities, connections and relationships.

There's also more pleasure in life to somebody and they generally look happier. There’s less pain and more pleasure, like everything they do, they just look like they enjoy.

When somebody trusts the process of life and feels safe in that, other people will feel safe around them and trust with them.

Forgiveness of self and others

When you’re able to forgive, your relationships and existing relationships will actually start to shift and the types of people that start to show up in their lives will start to change. They have less fear based people and more grounded creative people in their life.

Dynamic posture, in stark contrast to its static counterpart, is a powerful force that embraces the natural curvatures of the body while in motion. Unlike static posture, which emphasizes the importance of staying still with a straight spine, dynamic posture recognizes that the body is designed for movement and constant adaptation. The magic of dynamic posture lies in its ability to allow the body's natural curves to work harmoniously, promoting strength, flexibility, and resilience. When we move dynamically, whether walking, running, or engaging in physical activities, the body instinctively adjusts to maintain stability while accommodating its inherent curves. This adaptability not only prevents strain on specific muscles and joints but also promotes a more comprehensive engagement of the musculoskeletal system. Static posture, on the other hand, often leads to stiffness and rigidity. While a straight spine is crucial for certain activities, maintaining this position for extended periods can result in discomfort and potential health issues. Dynamic posture, by embracing the body's curves, encourages a more fluid and natural way of moving, reducing the risk of chronic pain and promoting overall well-being. Understanding the power of dynamic posture is crucial in a world where sedentary lifestyles prevail. Incorporating dynamic movements into daily routines not only fosters physical health but also enhances mental well-being. By acknowledging and respecting the body's natural curvatures during movement, individuals can unlock the full potential of dynamic posture, leading to a more balanced and resilient approach to life. If you are not present in your body, you will not only miss opportunities and be unable to connect with others on a deeper level, you’ll also get taken advantage of. When you are only in your head, you cannot FEEL the intention of other people. You cannot tell who is good for you and who is bad. Yes, you have a ton of success. You’ve accomplished so much in the world, yet you get burnt out over and over again. You’re tired, overworked and look like you “have it all” and people tell you that you are “doing amazing things in the world.” Yet you feel like you are on a constant hamster wheel and there’s no way out. Everyone says, “get present.” But nobody teaches you how. When I learned HOW to be present, it was a total gamechanger. I no longer felt at the whim of my life, but instead felt the power I had within to create EXACTLY what I wanted for myself. Presence is the key to unlocking your fullest potential. A high achiever with presence can move mountains. It’s when the high achiever gets in their head, everything gets mucked up, relationships suffer, health suffers and nobody wins. Here are two simple simple steps to gain presence: First, be with your breath. If you are not with your breath, you are not present. Period. Keep your body soft. Feel your breath come into your body and out of your body smoothly and easefully. Holding your breath leads to stuck thoughts and energy. Letting your breath continuously flow, keeps you in the flow of life and brings you to the present moment. Any time you feel stuck, simply come back to your breath and steady the flow so it is not stopping anywhere. Second, keep your awareness in your body. If you keep your awareness in the lower part of your body, it’s easier to stop thinking. One way to do this is to notice if your belly button is tight and pulled back toward your back or if your belly button is soft and there is a lot of space between your belly and back. If your belly is tight, your mind is most likely overworking and may burn yourself out. Thoughts take way more energy than being in your body. Softening your belly button will create presence, save you tons of energy and even give you more time in your days! If you gained more presence, what would change in your life? Send me a message. Did you know, according to a 2018 study by Freeletics , people who exercise regularly make $25,000 or more than those who do not exercise? You are made of energy and energy is in your body. You are a massive energetic being in a really small physical form. So, when you don't exercise your small physical form and your massive internal energies start to grow, your body and energy struggle with one another. Many of us have heard that we need to take care of our bodies. But, it’s important to understand that the body is both physical AND energetic. Your body is vibrationally alive! Physical exercise, especially mindful movement, allows the energy in your body to flow through you, so you don't get stuck in a rut in your life. When you are moving with more fluidity, everything in your life flows more easily, including money. Mindful exercise helps money flow in and through your life with more ease. When you are in your head and not moving your body, money tends to have a “stop and go,” flow, especially if you are worried about money. Inconsistent cash flow is a HUGE stressor for many people. When you are in your body and enjoying life, you are more open to manifest and receive more money. What if consistent mindful movement could create consistent cash flow in your life? To understand why mindful movement can help you manifest more money, you may need to look at it from a different perspective. Let’s take a look at how you can begin creating more movement with your body while increasing your flow of money.

I often get asked what my morning routine looks like so I’m sharing some of the practices I have implemented in my own life so that you may be inspired to create a morning routine for yourself.
